Medieval and free improvisations as well as music from the mystery play ORDO VIRTUTUM (Hildegard von Bingen, 1089-1179) with Ars Choralis Coeln, Maria Jonas directing
Ten years ago Cologne singer and artist Barbara Thornton died on 8 November 1998 while her ensemble Sequentia was on a concert tour in the US with ORDO VIRTUTUM. She died only 48 years old, in the year Hildegard von Bingen would have celebrated her ninehundredth birthday, the Rhenish abbess Barbara Thornton devoted a great deal of her work to. The workshop aims to recall this excellent artist.
