Closing celebration »Noli me tangere!«
Barbara Schachtner and Milan Sladek
A stroll through the exhibition with »islands of live images«. Kolumba’s 4th annual exhibition “Noli me tangere!” refers to the meeting between Christ and Maria Magdalena found in the Gospel of St. John. It affords the viewer an opportunity to ponder presence and absence, proximity and distance, love, desire, and respect. Milan Sladek (pantomime) and Barbara Schachtner (voice/dance) allow the rooms of the museum and the works of art to inspire them, creating little islands of images by using the means of language, voice, song, dance, and pantomime. Impressively, Milan Sladek relates scenes from along the Way of the Cross, while Barbara Schachtner meets the occasion acoustically with the moving aria »Erbarme Dich« (Have mercy, Lord, on me) from Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion. On the course of their path, they penetrate all levels of the museum, also experimentally, beginning at the excavation site and ending in the cabinet rooms on the second upper level. Visitors are invited to join both of these artists on their journey. Milan Sladek is internationally renowned as a pantomime, director, and author, who seeks possibilities to cooperate with other forms of art as well. Barbara Schachtner, who trained as an opera singer, revealed herself to be open to other forms of expression at an early age already, bringing together classical songs and experimental forms of voice and movement. The walk through the museum, which will last about an hour, begins at 12:30 p.m. and will be repeated again at 2:15 and 4 p.m. The regular admission fees apply for this closing celebration.
