Manos Tsangaris: Table Concert
Sounds and Recitation
»Orchestra«
Sounds from »Vivarium – Reisen, Kochen, Zoo...« (Vivarium - Traveling, Cooking, Zoo...)
texts from »Imploding Desk«
The table concert is about ambulatory aesthetics or about aesthetically walking about. The verb ambulare literally means to wander. In this case, however, it is not the audience who wanders, but the sounds. For example, one of the Western world's "most immobile" instruments - the grand piano - is moved through the museum and as this happens, it is played; it is a sort of "piano procession", but which is about music: What happens when the sources of sounds, and the sounds themselves, move about the room like this? Simultaneously, a recitation of texts from "Imploding desk" from the annual exhibition "thinking" will take place. The ear orients itself to this, and likewise turns away from it when it opts to track the instrumental sounds on their journey.
Performers: Pi-hsien Chen – Piano; Dan-Dan Hammer-Zheng – Piano; Frank Riedel – Saxophone; Markus Oppenländer – Performance; Manos Tsangaris – Recitation
