2010 Robert Haiss
19 May to 30 August 2010
Robert Haiss – Paintings
Cabinet Exhibition Room 10
With persisting continuity, the Cologne painter (born 1960) deals with scenes of our everyday environment; places we ignore in public and in private spaces, streets and squares, details of facades and interiors, ambiances that are open or abandoned. Far from photographic precision and using wholly undramatic means, in his pictures Haiss finds his way to a timeless aesthetics of what is everyday. His first museum exhibition forms the concluding contribution to the »Bequest« exhibition. An artist’s booklet has been published as a sketchbook (32 pages, sewn binding, with numerous reproductions in black and white, edition of 300, € 10,-)
