07/17 Woodwind Workshop

2 July 2017, 12am – 5pm
„To Each his Cuckoo“
Sound Workshop

Listen to individual cuckoo calls – and then off into the open countryside to meet and greet them where many an artist has already tried to find himself. Ditties and folk songs may escort him, singing and wandering away from the crowds. „My artistic hub lies within my head and nowhere else, and I am strong because I do not let myself led astray by others but follow my inner voice.“ (Paul Gauguin, Tahiti 1892).
And yet we know that each and every one is merely part of a greater whole: a strictly led voice as in a medieval canon, or a phrase over a bourdon – like a link in a chain.

A greater whole indeed will be assembled and composed out of numerous single parts, joined together in this afternoon event of a sound workshop.
Together with their students and our visitors, Kerstin de Witt, Lucia Mense, Alessando Piqué, and Eva Morsbach will wander through the museum, trying, probing and presenting most diverse sounds on all kinds of wind instruments (various flutes, oboes, curiosita).

Regular entrance fee.
